Delivery & Unpacking

January 8, 2013

The first and main shipment of parts arrived. The driver Mike and his wife Dee were able to gently lower the crate from their truck and park it about a foot away from the garage door. (All under Dexter's supervision)

Crated and landed at home

Freakishly the weather co-operated with us today. Mother Nature dealt us 50 degrees and sunny in Mid January!
First thing this bright Saturday morning, son-in-law Ken and grandson Kamryn arrive with coffee in hand to help un-tarp the "Big Box". It wasn't long before Andy and my buddy Paul showed up to help.

Tarped waiting for us to unpack

Andy & Ken un-lidding the crate

This is what we saw - A thing of beauty ain't it?

Took down the sides - Nicely done Factory Five!!

Back Row from Left to Right - Me, Kenny, Andy
Front Row - Kam

Once the boxes of parts were shuttled into the basement, all that was left to unload was the chassis and main body shell.

From the Front

All the body parts stowed neatly up on the lift...

... and the chassis on it's chassis dolly. A perfect working height from my stool :)
(Paul and I whipped this dolly up a few weeks ago)

Kam and my first pic in front of "Project 33" (I gotta come up with a better name)

Kamryn and Ken make ready to leave for a hockey game while Paul and Andy consider the best way to dismantle the box! A lotta good wood there!

Here's one way!

Sunday was inventory day - All boxes opened, checked against the shipping manifest, re-boxed, labeled and catalogued. An all-day event!

Inventory complete!

The load of parts from Whitby Motorcar arrive. Buddy Paul and I went to the transport yard in Grand Island NY to pick up ourselves.

Inventoried those and found a few small items missing, most notably one muffler. Jeff and Whitby is all over it!

The hardtop FINALLY arrived today. I have to say Factory Five spends a lot of money on wood - Very high quality crates!

Spring is here and the engine arrived today. Had to make room in the garage by un crating the roof and reorganizing things to get the bikes out. Now the roof is up on the car body on the lift now.

Engine and Trans in one big box!!

See the engine section to view the "Motor un-crating!
